Aluminium-bronze components for
Marine & Hydraulic applications

A proven alloy for marine and hydraulic environments

Aluminium bronze is widely used for components operating in marine, hydraulic and water-related environments.

Its excellent corrosion resistance, especially in humid conditions and seawater exposure, combined with strong mechanical properties, makes it particularly suitable for demanding industrial applications.

Davergne designs and manufactures aluminium bronze cast components for water, fluid handling and hydraulic systems, with decades of experience in durable technical castings.

Thousands of Davergne components are currently operating in marine, hydraulic and industrial installations.

Components designed for humid and corrosive environments

CuAl10Fe2 aluminium bronze is particularly suited for components exposed to mechanical loads and aggressive or humid environments.

It is commonly used for equipment operating in contact with water, within hydraulic, industrial and marine installations.

It provides:

  • excellent corrosion resistance
  • very good seawater performance
  • high mechanical strength
  • long-term dimensional stability

These properties make it an ideal material for components operating under demanding conditions, especially in marine and hydraulic applications.

Examples of practical applications

In marine environments, contact between stainless steel components can lead to galling and seizure.
Aluminium bronze helps prevent this phenomenon, making it particularly suitable for salt-exposed mechanical components such as marine turnbuckles.

Aluminium bronze is also widely used for components subjected to high hydraulic pressures, including valves and firefighting network fittings.
Its mechanical strength and service stability make it suitable for applications where reliability and operational safety are critical.

For components exposed to high mechanical stresses, such as towing handles for inflatable boats, the ability of the material to deform without sudden fracture is a major advantage.
This behaviour contributes to user safety and long-term durability.

Finally, aluminium bronze contains neither zinc nor lead, making it particularly suitable for water treatment applications.
It is used for components in direct contact with water, including UV treatment system bases and pumping equipment where material compatibility and durability are essential.

Marine and hydraulic applications of aluminium bronze

Davergne aluminium bronze components are used in applications where corrosion resistance and durability in humid environments are essential.

They are integrated into various systems and equipment, including:

  • industrial valves and flow control systems
  • water treatment equipment
  • hydraulic installations and equipment
  • marine and harbour infrastructure components
  • safety systems such as firefighting networks and valves

These components play a key role in installation reliability and operational continuity.

Their resistance to corrosion and demanding environments ensures long-term performance throughout the equipment life cycle.

Davergne, a trusted partner for corrosive environments

Davergne is recognised for manufacturing aluminium bronze components used in marine, hydraulic and industrial environments, with hundreds of thousands of parts operating under real service conditions.

For decades, we have supported industries involved in water treatment, hydraulic systems and demanding industrial applications requiring durable and reliable components.

Our products are integrated into installations where humidity, fluids and corrosive environments require long-lasting technical materials.

Some Davergne components installed more than 15 years ago are still in operation today, demonstrating the robustness and longevity of our solutions.
